You know how God whispers to your heart the same thing, in different ways, over and over again? He beckons you. And He does it quietly, that in order to really hear Him, you have to draw closer and closer to His Father heart.
Somehow it happens that, when He whispers to me, I simultaneously run toward Him and push Him away. I am so interested and I want to know Him and His will so desperately, but I'm always scared. Because of course, even when He's revealing something you long for, when He's calling something out of you that He created and is so precious to Him, it is hard.
He has been whispering over and over to me for months. It is the convicting, reassuring, push and pull of less.
Less of me.
Less stuff.
Less wastefulness.
Less worry.
It has showed up time and again in my experiences this year, in my reading, in my conversation. He has consistently affirmed this for me.
And so this is my adventure this year - to follow hard after His heart in an effort for less. All to make infinitely more space for Him. And I hope to keep you updated along the way.
